Found on Facebook today… Our colleagues at Community First Yorkshire asked their Chair of Trustees, David Sharp, to speak about the importance and relevance of village halls and why they deserve such celebration.
What have we been up to this week?
I realised last night as I settled down to a cup tea I’d not written Thursday’s blog post celebrating Village Halls Week!
We’ve had a great week, radio interviews, committees signing the Doomesday Book and of course our Cluster Meeting on Wednesday.

No meeting is complete of course without an ice-breaker!
So at the start of the cluster meeting people listed the activities and hirers they miss. Just a few examples:
What did we miss on Thursday?
“What does the future hold for village halls?”
Get Involved
We want to hear from pioneering halls. Have you got PV Panels? Do you have a vegetable garden? Do you provide electric car charging points? What does your hall do to help the community look after the environment?
Did you know…

What’s the plan for today – Friday?
We will take a look back over the week and feature some of our favourite stories of the week, ACRE will be interviewing committees about your plans for the future and we will celebrate ACRE Network members providing 100 years of advice and support for village halls.
Don’t forget to have a look on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates and follow the hashtag #VillageHallsWeek.
